Wikipedia: It is located on the northern border. As of the 2020 census, the population was 60,992. Granville County encompasses Oxford, NC Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC Combined Statistical Area. The county has access to Kerr Lake and Falls Lake and is part of the Roanoke, Tar and Neuse River watersheds.

George C. Shaw Museum: The founder of the School, Dr. Shaw was the founding Pastor of the Timothy Darling Presbyterian Church in Oxford. Mary Potter Academy was an outgrowth of the Church.
Until 1936, Mary Potter was the only high school for African Americans in Granville County and it served as a Boarding School until the 1950’s. In 1970, following its seventy-first Annual Commencement, Mary Potter became an integrated middle School. Its talented instructors from Lincoln, Howard, Syracuse and Shaw Universities prepared students in normal and preparatory courses.
Visitors can expect to see 17th and 18th century Victorian and Queen Anne furniture, Photos of the original 20 acre school campus, class yearbooks dating back to 1948 with famous and recognizable past students, and Memorabilia from National Reunions. And, enjoy a video of Dr. Shaw and his accomplishments.

The Viking Experience: Mar 25-26, 2023, The Viking Experience Festival, The Barn at Vino, 3200 Bliss Trail, Stem, NC 27581 Come join TVE for our 2nd Viking Festival. Our location has moved to The Barn at Vino with 22 acres of property. This lovely wedding venue includes two ponds, fields with trees, vineyard, and a large barn style reception building with porch. There will be so much to do you will have to visit both days. *Activities for the festival include: interactive characters, fairies, dragons, barbarians, reenactors, music, dancing, games, vendors, food, kids area, LARP Adventures, Fight Pits, Queen’s Court and a Dinner Theater. *Patron tickets on sale in Jan.
